Me

Professionally, I’m a Solutions Architect (something like a programmer / sysadmin / technologist / development manager) at the EdLab at Teachers CollegeColumbia University.

My primary focus at the lab is internet literacy, particularly figuring out how to construct web publishing tools that facilitate participation and collaboration while simultaneously helping users develop skills and incorporate best practices for “winning” on the internet.

Outside of the lab my work centers around building what are sometimes called expert systems, specifically those that might be used by internet publishing professionals who want to do media journalism.

I previously worked as a developer for BuzzFeed and every once and a while I still post there. Before that I was at Rayogram, which bills itself as an inter-disciplinary creative services studio.
